Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
Despite being concentrated, alcholic, complex and rich in color, it is recomposed into a "unicum" of rare balance. It is a velvety wine, never excessively tannic or acidic. This is why it is immediately pleasant when young, improving as it ages. It is a majestic wine for nobility balance and strenght.
Region
Selected hillside vineyards, in Valpolicella region, (Verona-Veneto) planted in calcareous soils at 200-350 mt o.s.l.
Variety: Corvina Veronese and Corvinone Veronese 75%, Rondinella 25%. Bunches are hand picked and rigolously selected at the end of September | Style: Still Wine
Alcohol Graduation: 15% | Serving Temperature: Between 17 and 18°C
Tasting Notes
Deep bright, ruby red colour with violet edge. Powerful bouquet and intense aromas of cherry, ripe plum, toasted almond and vanilla. Full body with round and rich flavour.
Food Pairing
Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats. Full flavoured dishes and well mature cheeses.
Technical Information
Vinification process is done by soft pressing the grapes in December/January, followed by a 30 days maturation of the skins. 60% of the wine is refined for 24 months in big oaks barrels by 20-30-50HL and 40% of the wine is refined for 18 months in new French barriques from Allier oak, then 6 months in the bottle.
